New American Made Acana Pet Foods

New Kentucky Kitchens Begin Cooking Early 2016

Acana Heritage Free Run Poultry

There’s hardly been a more cutting-edge pet food company than Champion Pet Foods (Orijen, Acana), and hardly a store that jumped on board sooner than we did (as soon as it was available in our market in fact, way back in 2009).

It’s with that history in mind that we’re so excited to announce that our lineup of healthy, locally sourced, grain free, and natural pet foods is about to greatly expand with the help of Champion Pet Foods (Orijen, Acana), and their new Kentucky facility.

That’s right, Champion’s coming to America, adding to their already wonderful offerings from their original facility in Alberta, Canada.

The new Kentucky kitchens allow Champion to produce a greatly expanded lineup of their wonderful Acana foods (and presumably Orijen in the future as well), while sticking to their philosophy of never outsourcing, and never compromising ingredient sourcing.

And what an incredible lineup expansion it will be: starting early 2016 you’ll see Acana’s all new Heritage line hit our shelves, as well as all new updates to their Regionals lineup, and even new treats. Teeming with 60-70% free run poultry, eggs, and other fresh meats (even Champion’s trademark "whole prey" formulas with vital organ meats and bone, and raw meats), Acana’s new formulas will really help us reduce the overall carbohydrate and processed ingredient intake of pets throughout Michigan.

We really appreciate Champion’s commitment to making these kinds of products, because it ultimately means healthier and happier pets.
