It's been about six weeks since our big grand opening of the Michigan dog park at Joey's, and we've certainly received a lot of questions. We'll try to summarize as best we can the answers to the most commonly asked questions.
Pricing:
We've decided to charge a membership fee for several reasons. First and foremost, we believe that this will limit the park to only those attendees who are serious about maintaining a positive atmosphere. Paying members will naturally have a vested interest in helping us keep Joey's Dog Park clean, beautiful, safe, and fun.
Secondly, we simply cannot ignore the significant investment of both time and capital that we have put into this park. Further, we anticipate that ongoing maintenance of the park will be at least as costly, if not more. The only way to build and maintain a great dog park is to recover some of the investment we've made. The last thing we want is for this beautiful park to deteriorate into a weed-infested mud-pit where nobody wants to take their dogs.
Membership rates:
So what are those rates? $19.99 a month for one dog, $29.99 for two, and $34.99 for three. Members who sign up for the full year will receive a discounted rate, and the total cost for each is as follows: $209 for one dog, $299 for two dogs, and $349 for three dogs. A day pass will also be available for $6, $8, and $10 respectively.
There is also a $35 initiation fee. However, we'll be awarding Charter Membership to anyone who joins by the end of this year, and the initiation fee will be waived. It's our way of saying 'thank you' to those of you who join us from the start.
Rules, Paperwork, etc.:
PDF files of our park rules can be downloaded here, and our membership application, waiver, and release here, which you will be required to acknowledge and agree to upon signup. The rules will also be posted at the entrance to the park.
These rules are written entirely with the goal of maintaining a truly top-notch facility for our loyal membership. This is one case where rules are meant to enhance the fun rather than restrict it.
It's about you (and the dogs):
Finally, we want to take a moment to invite your questions, comments, suggestions, and even your concerns or complaints. This dog park will always be about providing an opportunity for the life you've always dreamed of having with your dogs, and we can't do that without letting your voices be heard. Head over to the Contact page and drop us a line.
Thank you so much for all of your interest, attendance, and support thus far,
Derek
