Hi all,
I wanted to take a few minutes to tell you about a very special organization that's doing a lot of good for the animals we love. As many of you know, this here general manager rescued an Australian Cattle Dog almost two months ago, and the AuCaDo rescue is dedicated solely to this wonderful breed.
Anyone who knows a little bit about Cattle Dogs (Blue and Red Heelers, Hush is a Red) knows that they are very high drive, and thus can be very demanding on the owner. But they're also highly intelligent, have an endearing desire to please, and their drive also makes them highly trainable for activities such as flyball, agility, and otherwise just cool tricks!
The rescue is run by Monica Larner, along with her husband and son, and they do a wonderful job. It's located in Remus, MI, where they've built a wonderful building, along with kennels, fenced in dog runs, and otherwise tons of cool play area for these dogs to be, well, dogs! They work very hard to help the dogs adjust to their new surroundings, and eventually to their new homes.
Hush already knew how to sit beautifully when I got her, and her manners were fantastic--one of the best-behaved puppies I've ever seen. My thanks definitely go to Monica and her family, so please allow me to give back by sending you to the link below. If you're interested in getting a dog, please consider adoption, and this is one of many great places to go!
Thanks again Monica, Hush is doing great!
